Family Movie Night

Time with the family is important! Decide this week to make a new routine in your families schedule by adding family movie night! Come up with about 20 movies to choose the night you choose and together as a family pick which film you would all enjoy together. Along with movie night, give the cook a break at home and order pizza or have Chinese delivered. Throw some pillow on the floor, start up a nice fire in the fireplace, grab some blankets and spend some quality fun time with the people that love you the most. Make this a weekly or monthly tradition, something you can pass on and have your kids do with their kids when they are older! Look through our post below to get some movie ideas or check out Netflix for great movie selections delivered to your door!W

Flight of the Conchords is a Must-See TV Series

Yes! TV is starting to become entertaining again! The major networks have some very funny programs running right now with shows such as "The Office" and "Family Guy." But HBO has made a contribution to the off-the-wall comedy world with its program, "Flight of the Conchords". Here's the official Web site, http://www.hbo.com/conchords, describes the show:

"Flight of the Conchords follows the trials and tribulations of a two man, digi-folk band from New Zealand as they try to make a name for themselves in their adopted home of New York City. The band is made up of Bret McKenzie on guitar and vocals, and Jemaine Clement on guitar and vocals. Their friendship is hilarious and unique. This band duo makes for a hit series in 2007.

The band who consists of Bret and Jemaine have moved to New York in the hope of forging a successful music career. So far they've managed to find a manager (whose "other" job is at the New Zealand Consulate), one fan (a married obsessive) and one friend (who owns the local pawn shop) -- but not much else."

From the first episode I laughed until my sides hurt. This series will keep you laughing in one way or another from beginning to end. There are constant subtleties in the dialogue and the all characters in the show are very funny. I find myself, in a weird way, being reminded of "Seinfeld" simply because of the quirky characters and the goofy situations they find themselves in. The creative characters will keep you locked in and laughing aloud. Flight of the Chonchords will be a series you will want to pass on to friends and just keep watching over and over.

Flight of the Conchords is also very unpredictable. That's part of the reason why it's so funny, you just can't say what's going to happen next.

I love the character of the band manager and how he starts each band meeting with a role call, even though there are only three in attendance.

I would happily recommend "Flight of the Conchords" to anyone looking for a new comedy series. I'll be looking for the series on DVD when it's released.

Recalling TV and Movie Past: Bringing Back Quality

Whether it is ABC, NBC, MTV or Nickelodeon you can't go through a couple of minutes or hours without seeing or hearing inappropriate language, too much kissing, too little clothing or another human treating another human disrespectfully. The content put on our Television sets anymore has become too embarrassing or cruel that you might as well sell your Television sets.

Movies and television of the past have just become that a thing of the past. A wholesome, happy era that has been swept under the rug. When was the last time you rented a movie or turned on your television that your 4 year old daughter could watch without you reaching to cover her eyes or ears. When was the last time your daughter asked, mom what does "%%$#%!" mean? We live in such a day that those words, actions and thoughts are not so outrageous to hear a 6 year old say. Families might not be able to change the outside world but I believe families can begin to change the world of their children and that is where it begins. Get your family together and all decide to clean out those DVD shelves and remove anything that has any negative influence. Start today to make it a tradition to watch with your children a fun, kind and positive show. Here are a number of movies and television shows that you might remember in your future rentals or purchases. Make a difference in our future generations by helping watch what they see and hear.

"ClearPlay DVD Player" the new way to moderate what you hear and see in movies

"The Clearplay DVD Player will make watching movies with the family more fun!"

Check out http://clearplay.com for more information.

Let your guard down and stop worrying about unseemly, vulgar language spewing from the movies you watch with your children.

The Clearplay DVD Player will filter out offensive language based on parental settings that include tolerant, moderate, strict, word specific and sexual references. You can also choose Religious Programming; this setting instructs the DVD player to ignore references to Deity, which would normally be interpreted as a vain reference.

Finally watch movies without covering your kids eyes and ears!
